PEARL HARBOR REMEMBRANCE

Today is the 66th Anniversary of a day that will live in infamy.
See yesterday's poorly written article, that has some Excellent links to make up for my Laziness.
Anyway the ice is off the roads where I am and I'm sneaking out to go for a ride.
Again, please see yesterday's links. They are very informative...

I finally got around to reading your "yesterday" links. On Friday, I had an interesting twist on Pearl Harbor Remembrance day. I spent the day near Portland at Skedco who makes a lot of military and civilian rescue/medical gear. During our meeting a few employees had come into work and wanted to get the flag at half mast in remembrance of Pearl Harbor. The key was misplaced and they were getting a bit frantic in their effort to get the flag lowered. I was pretty impressed with their passion for the day.

The twist was that the employees were relatively recent immigrants or children of recent immigrants from China. I hadn't been reminded in awhile how the US in the Pacific during WWII, did more than just defend our nation. Pearl Harbor kicked the US Pacific effort into high gear and saved countless lives including many non-Americans. How great is it that now these guys are here living the American dream and at the same time helping fellow Americans in the military.
